How do I get a book that WCPL doesn't own?

If WCPL does not own a title that you want to read, you may suggest it for purchase.

All purchase suggestions are reviewed by the Collection Development staff; purchase decisions are based on our collection development guidelines. Please note that you will receive a reply from Wake County Public Libraries ONLY if your suggestion is chosen for purchase.

You can request some items through Interlibrary Loan (ILL):

  • Print books
  • Books on CD
  • Microfilm
  • Journal articles

Interlibrary Loan items usually arrive within 2 to 6 weeks. You may use ILL as long as you don't have fines over $10 or any lost items on your account.

Contact your local library for more information.
