I heard the library is “late fee free.” What does this mean?

Effective January 1, 2020, WCPL has eliminated late fees/overdue fines for materials that are returned after their due date. Going late fee free is one more way WCPL is removing barriers and increasing access to our collections and services.

  • Library patrons are still responsible for fees associated with the replacement of misplaced or damaged books and other materials they check out. Additionally, patrons can return lost items to remove replacement fees from their accounts.

  • Patrons enjoy a three-week checkout period and two courtesy renewals for most books and materials. Materials requested by other patrons and Lucky Day books cannot be renewed.

  • The Library encourages patrons to return books in a responsible and timely fashion to the Library so others may enjoy our shared resources.

Please see our Late Fee Free Circulation Policy for more information.
